First Day of School 2020

It's become a new tradition to take photos of these silly first day of school poses. Although with homeschooling, we typically school year round, we still need a moment to say we're transitioning to the new year... and with all that was going on with the pandemic, we did take more of a break this past summer. So, here's to the start of a new school year! And here, in their own words, are our students' thoughts on their year...
HELEN

Age: 5  11/12 (birthday in 3 days!)

Grade: 1st (we debated about this... technically, since her birthday is after Sept 1, she would be kindergarten... however, she's really doing 1st grade work, so we might as well give her that status)

Favorite Books:

    - Princess in Black series

    - At Home in the Woods (this was our most recent "Author Access" bookclub book through Read Aloud Revival)

Summer Accomplishment: Lost first tooth

Plans for this year:

    - Continue ballet

    - Big kid math book

    - Big kid homework notebook (she was SO excited to get one of these - her own spiral-bound notebook where we write down the daily to-do list; previously, she just had a clipboard with her list, but a notebook signifies a move into elementary school!)

The missing tooth pose...
