Henry - 8 Months

Eight months have already passed since Henry was born. Our little guy is keeping Mommy and Daddy quite busy!

Henry crawls all over the place, even going up & down the stairs into our living room... which means, you really can't leave him alone these days. Sometimes he does a normal crawl. But sometimes, especially on the hard dining room floor, Henry will crawl with his hands and feet, rather than his knees.

He's also very much into cruising along the furniture. Henry can pretty much get anywhere he wants to these days (even places Mommy doesn't want him to go). He is a big fan of electrical cords as well.

Henry also really likes to feed himself at meal time. So finger food is the way to go. Yesterday he tried grilled summer squash at his godmother Jan's house and loved it! Mommy is reminded of how quickly the kitchen floor gets messed up (and thankful for the nice patio furniture Daddy bought last summer - since eating outside requires less clean up).

Micah and Henry have started playing together recently. They enjoy a crawling game - where Micah (and sometimes Daddy) will crawl one way and Henry follows. The long hallway by our bedrooms is the perfect place for crawling races! Today, Micah invented a new game that is perfect for the two of them... Micah "cooks" his play food and gives it to Henry, who is quite happy with his role of taste-testing all the plastic food.

Henry is definitely a Mommy's boy right now. He loves snuggling with Mommy and wants only her when he's sleepy. But he's also a fan of Grandma Moldy - he always gives her a big hug on the mornings when she watches the boys while Mommy goes to work.

We're thankful for Henry's activeness - a continual reminder of God's grace following the spinal surgery he had in April. We did have a trip this week to U of M's Mott Hospital, as our pediatrician wanted us to consult a pediatric cardiologist regarding a heart murmur. But the specialist called it an "innocent murmur," very common as babies grow, and told us it was nothing to be concerned about. We continue to thank God for blessing our sweet little boy!
