Micah keeps us continually smiling with the things he says and does. Here are some of the latest...
- In the photo above- he was drinking his first homemade milkshake (with his winter hat - because he was shivering from the cold milkshake... the hat did prevent the brain freeze which Daddy fell victim to). When he got to the bottom and made the slurping sounds with his straw, he exclaimed, "Mommy! It sounds like a frog!"
- After drinking the milkshake, he had a burst of energy - which resulted in this impromptu dance party. This kid LOVES to dance.
- Micah still loves his Shaun the Sheep. One day, Shaun joined Micah in a dance party (we have them a lot at our house). Micah paused to tell Mommy, "I'm dancing with Shaun. He's not big enough to dance by himself."
- Upon hearing Henry's loud burp after breakfast, Micah declared, "Too many cookies!"
- Upon seeing the dry flaky skin on Henry's forehead, Micah insisted, "Mommy, he has crumbs on his head! We need to get the lotion!"

- During lunch, Mommy killed a mosquito (!) on Micah's forehead (we had the windows open last weekend when it was warm - the only theory we have as to why we had a mosquito in our house in January). Micah was a bit confused by what was happening and after Mommy explained that the mosquito was trying to bite him, he said, "That guy has to say sorry to Micah. But he can't talk... because he's small. When he gets bigger he has to say sorry!"
- Saying sorry is a big thing for him right now. In fact, when he detects that Daddy is teasing Mommy (which is frequent!), he will cock his head and say sternly, "Daddy, be nice! You have to say sorry to Mommy!"
- Micah can now recite his ABC's and count to 13 (though he hasn't yet grasped the idea of counting specific objects). He can also tell you, "R-O-E spells Roe" and likes to look for "R" or "O" while we drive in the car (this is a good start towards playing the "alphabet game" - which might help us out on longer car trips since he seems to have forgotten how to nap in the car!).
- Micah's newest joke he came up with all on his own... "No more cookies jumping on the bed!" (He thinks it's hilarious.... and when a 2 year old is giggling, you can't help but laugh, even if it isn't the best joke.)
- Today Micah walked into the living room with a big spoon (he's been hijacking cooking utensils lately) and when asked what he was going to do with the spoon, he put it under Henry's foot and told us, "I'm going to cook Hengry!"
- We're continually looking for ways to improve our morning routine, so when Micah wanted to go outside the other morning, Mommy capitalized on a great way to get him to get dressed in a hurry (toddlers need motivation sometimes!).... and then sent him outside on his own while she got dressed (without having to entertain him or keep him out of the bathroom drawers!). We're thankful for the balcony right outside Mommy's bedroom so she could keep an eye on him. Later he told Daddy, "Mommy said, 'Stay on the porch'" and then cheerfully confessed to Daddy that he did indeed go down the stairs...
- Micah has been fascinated with playing in the sink lately. He loves "helping" to wash dishes. So one morning last week, he got unrestricted access to wash some of his toys. In the end, we went through 3 bath towels and he was completely soaked. He had to eat his PB&J sandwich in his diaper while his clothes were in the dryer. But he was perfectly happy!
