One of the novels we ALL enjoyed tremendously has been the humorous Adventures with Waffles by Maria Parr. I had read it aloud to Micah several years ago, when he was the only one who would sit through long chapter books while the other two napped. I used to check regularly at the library for a sequel (or any new book by Maria Parr!). FINALLY, this year, a sequel has been published in the U.S. (Maria Parr is a Norwegian author). In the meantime, we also enjoyed her book, Astrid the Unstoppable and we all listened to the audiobook version of Adventures with Waffles. So we were delighted to learn that Maria Parr would be the featured author on "Author Access" via Read Aloud Revival.
We always incorporate some kind of snacks for our Author Access events. Naturally, this event demanded sourdough waffles. We even lent our book to Grandma to read so she could join us as we listened to the live interview with Maria Parr. We got a little creative with our waffle decorating that day. But, hey, why not make it an adventure with our waffles!
