July 7th was also Jacob's brother Kenny's birthday. So we celebrated with cake after our BBQ pork lunch before we headed downtown.
Micah loves the Happy Birthday song, so he practiced a lot in advance of Uncle Kenny's birthday.
It was a hot day down at the ballpark (93 at the first pitch). But thankfully, Jacob had procured seats along the first base line - in the shade the whole time, and with a decent breeze. Most of the family was able to make it again this year, though not Grandma & Poppa Roe. For the first time ever at the annual Roe game (a tradition for about 7 years), the Tigers actually won, beating the Royals that day. We secretly wondered if perhaps Poppa Roe was the bad luck, since he has never seen the Tigers win in his life!
Micah and his cousins Heidi and Carson did pretty well at the game. (Carson's younger brother stayed at our house with Aunt Beth).
They enjoyed lots of snacks (one of the perks of going to the ballgame with your aunts and uncles!) and cheering for the Tigers.

We were excited to have Micah at Comerica Park and get some photos. We did take him last year a few times but he was much more aware of what was going on this year.
Plus, it was fun to have the experience with his cousins.
At the end of the day, we got our group shot by the big Tiger in the front of the park. And then headed back home.
Thankfully, it wasn't a far walk - we took the Hard Rock Cafe party bus (Jacob's special $5 parking find gives a parking garage and a free shuttle to the game).
Back in Brighton, we enjoyed sparklers (Micah's first time) and hanging out (some of the family spent the night). It was a relaxing end to the warm day. What fun with a big family! Go Tigers!
I have to ask... after all that BBQ did Micah have any "tigers?" ;)
