Local Hiking - March 27, 2021

Another local hike on a Saturday morning. One result of the pandemic of great value to us is our increased awareness of the trails and outdoor adventures available to us locally. Brighton State Recreation Area is one such location we've frequented more since staying closer to home.
Everyone loves to climb trees! Our own property boasts many trees but not many of the climbing variety. So searching for a good climbing tree is always a priority when we hike elsewhere.

A fallen tree and root ball provides scientific exploration. As often happens, hiking with kids causes me to look more closely. They are naturally better at "noticing" than the average grown-up. I get a much richer experience when I follow their lead!
