Play Date in Ann Arbor - Oct 27

At the end of Oct, we made our second trip to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, this time as a play date with the Fairbanks kids. Since the five kids were all 4 and under, we spent most of our time in the preschool play area.
Being a Monday, we had the place nearly to ourselves. Micah took charge in the engineering ball run area, with Henry joining him as they worked for a long time to gather and disperse the balls which traveled along the path.
Barrett and Lucy checked out the infant play area, too.
 Isn't his smile adorable?!
Micah was still hard at work getting those balls into the machine.
Henry took a break from the balls to move to the water play area. This has Henry written all over it (he loves playing in the sink at home)!
 First, with the animals.
Then, with the scoop - which was a tool for the water shooting out of the pipe.
Henry was definitely fascinated with the water flowing out of the pipe. If only we could recreate this at home (in a way that recycles rather than wastes water...).
Barrett thought it looked like fun so he joined the water play as well.

 Back to the ball area...
At lunch time, Micah observed Miss Carrie buy a drink out of the vending machine. He thought the concept of putting money in and getting something out to be irresistible. Lucky for him, he had just earned a dollar over the weekend, giving Poppa Roe a back scratch. So he decided to spend that money before it burned a hole in his pocket. He carefully inserted the bill and pushed the buttons for his choice. Four months later, he still has the empty Gatorade bottle as a memento of his first big purchase.
We are thankful for friends like the Fairbanks to enable us to do fun outings like this (Mommy feels much braver when there is another adult in the mix, even if we have five little ones between us).
