On Sunday, we visited our friend Miss Ximena's house to join a welcome party for her husband Greg, who just moved to MI. It was a hot day, but the boys enjoyed playing around outdoors. Micah made a new friend, Amelia, and later referred to her as "My best friend that Daddy calls Amelia Bedelia" (we have recently begun to enjoy those books).
Henry just loves playing outside, so he was happy the whole time (well, until he fell on the driveway and split his lip open). But before that, he had fun chasing the helium balloon that Miss Ximena tied to his belt loop (NOTE: This is an awesome way to entertain a toddler - and the adults around him - at a party!)
Tuesday was a cousin's day! The boys hung out at Grandma's for much of the day while Mommy went to her doctor visit and went out to lunch with Daddy and his co-workers. It was their annual Christmas lunch at Meriwether's - just a bit later than usual this year. Mommy had fun visiting with all the office friends and having a lunch she didn't need to share with toddlers! The boys didn't mind missing out because Calla and Albert were at Grandma's also that day (Grandma is such a super woman!).
Wed was Mommy's birthday - and Micah took this lovely photo of her growing belly. He also was a big helper - folding sister's laundry. Actually, both boys enjoy helping with laundry. Henry's role is to put the clothes into the washing machine (under Mommy's watchful eye, lest he attempts to also wash other objects) and he is good at taking things in and out of the dryer. Micah is really into folding these days. He is best with a load of towels and washcloths, but he even takes extreme care to fold Daddy's underwear just so!
Grandma & Poppa Moldy, Uncle Ben, Aunt Lynice, Uncle Andy, Aunt Heather, Calla, and Albert came over for dinner on Mommy's birthday. Daddy picked up Middle Eastern food which was a first-time experience for most of our guests. They were good sports about it though. After dinner, we went outside where the big kids hunted for frogs.
Calla wasn't so interested in catching or touching the frogs, but she was great at finding them for Micah to put into his bucket!
And here's a little throw-back... Mommy's friend Lindsay posted this shot on Facebook from the days on Linden Street in Charlotte. Mommy (who was the inspector, sleuthing out who stole the old lady's necklace) also liked costumes - just like the boys do now!
Thursday morning we enjoyed a little cuddle time on the floor and Micah helped Mommy make banana muffins.
Then we headed to Walled Lake for our weekly Chit Chat Club. As we waited for "the friends" (as Micah refers to them) to arrive, the boys practiced a little Foosball.
Note how it seems both boys need to put their tongues out to play...
Later, they learned how to make their own live action video game (picture moving from couch to couch, across the room, by leaping onto objects on the floor) by an older Japanese boy. Our boys don't really know about video games, but the idea of jumping off of furniture is quite familiar...
Henry did take a few selfies with Mommy's phone... perhaps to show off his new haircut?
