The runny nose was the start of a serious cold for Micah (which actually had begun with Henry a few days before and also spread to Mommy). Thankfully, Henry was on the road to recovery, so we got photos of him in his Christmas outfit... but by Christmas Day, Micah was in no mood to get his photo taken.
Although it wasn't a "perfect" Christmas, with 3 out of 4 of us being sick, it really was wonderful - we were able to celebrate Jesus' birthday with homemade birthday muffins, complete with birthday candles. We sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and, after worship at church, spent the day hanging out at home, completely thankful for our blessings. There were just five gifts under our tree - one for each of us, including Jesus (Daddy's gift of beef jerky was gone before the day was done!). When looking through a World Vision catalog, Micah chose that our gift for Jesus this year would be to pay to send a wheelchair to someone who needs it - perhaps a nod to our dear Great-Aunt Lucille, who spent much of her life in a wheelchair, and recently went to heaven. Surely, Aunt Lucille is enjoying quite a Christmas Celebration this year - without her wheelchair!
Happy Birthday, Jesus, indeed!
