We haven't colored in a while (Mommy got too annoyed by having to police the crayon eating habit), but things went very well today. Micah enjoyed coloring for a while and then taking the crayons in and out of the box. However, our art session ended when the point from the green crayon wound up in Micah's mouth.
We packed ourselves up and headed out to Daddy's office. Micah had fun climbing under the desk and giving Daddy his Happy Birthday sign after saying hello to all the friends in the office. Then we took Daddy out to our favorite place nearby the Towers Watson building - the Tokyo Buffet (nothing puts the "happy" in "happy birthday" like "all you can eat" for our Daddy!).
In the evening, we enjoyed our stuffed green peppers (Daddy's birthday dinner choice) and took a walk on our trails.
While we didn't see any turtles, we did notice quite a few frogs by the ponds. Daddy pointed out to Micah how they jump into the water when we get near the shoreline.
On Sunday, we celebrated Daddy's birthday, as well as Poppa's and Uncle David's, with the Michigan Moldys. The grandkids have quickly learned that Grandma is the queen of bubbles, so we definitely made a trip out to the bubble table.
Because it was a special day, Grandma brought out the brand-new fancy bubble wands to try. Both Micah and Calla are still getting the hang of it, but have a lot of fun.
And Uncle Davey went and bought a bag of ice which we dumped into a big bucket, added water, and viola - instant entertainment! Who knew you could get so much fun with just the cost of a bag of ice!
Happy Birthday - Daddy, Uncle Davey, and Poppa!
