Monday was an exciting day. Our old Chit Chat Club friend Junko Kondo came to visit with her husband Junichi and daughter Sonoko. What a gift to spend time together again!
Tuesday we were back into our routine with library classes.
These little black shoes - so cute on our Helen!
Home from the library - and Henry couldn't resist a quick spin before lunch.
The kids helped decorate the present for cousin Calla, whose birthday we would celebrate that night.
Happy 5th birthday Calla!
Everyone was a fan of the cupcakes.
Nice weather again this week, so we took advantage on Wednesday afternoon. A trip to the mailbox isn't complete without a few jumps in the puddles.
After his puddle-jumping, Henry thought he'd scooter down the hill.
The "Motorcycle Scientist" strikes again!
Check out that focus!
Soccer!
Helen loves being able to walk around outside!
We had a fun field trip to the Outdoor Adventure Center. Meanwhile, language arts focused on letter G this week.
G is for gumballs.
A few toy catalogs arrived in the mail, so Micah started making out his Christmas wish list.
Henry was fascinated by the hole punch.
Fine motor practice.
Water play - Henry's favorite. Mom offered him the opportunity to paint, but he preferred the water instead.
Micah made his very own book! It was called "Roe" and featured the names of each member of our family. He's started spelling new words for the first time.
Helen. Henry.
Dad. Mom.
Water play... with ice!
Henry discovered he could pretend to be an elephant squirting water out his "trunk."
Wooden spoon hockey with Daddy.
Fun with H crew.
Miss Jan got us tickets to the Horse Expo in Novi. When she came, she brought over the large tube from her new carpet. The kids had fun rolling balls inside it. Then they used plastic Easter eggs to send messages to one another, including this carpet tube message from Micah to Mom.
Sunday's dinner inspired Micah...
Micah: Do you think that teenage kids can pour their own milk? Because when I'm a teenager, that's what I'm going to do!
Micah: Mom, do you know how Indians used to carry food to other Indians?
Mom: How??
Micah: They put the food on a spear and carried it.
Sunday night it was all about reenacting the story of David and Goliath in the living room (the kids did that story in CBS recently). Poor Daddy had to be Goliath again.
