F is for Fall Festival! October 24, 2015

We attended the Fall Festival at St. Matthew for the first time this year.
After filling their buckets (leftover from Easter) with candy at the trunk-or-treat in the parking lot, the boys enjoyed playing the various games.

Helen liked watching the petting farm animals.
But Henry was eager to get inside and start petting those animals!
The kids were dressed in a zoo theme - Micah a lion, Henry an elephant (an old costume borrowed from Grandma's house; she had made it for Uncle Josh when he was young), Helen a monkey, and Mommy wore a jacket with "Zoo Keeper" on it. (Daddy went as Daddy.)
Our little elephant is such an animal lover!
Inside the gym the boys tried to eat a donut on a string - without using their hands, of course.
It seemed to be a bit of a challenge. But it sure was entertaining for those watching!

Cheating in the end when his hunger won out.
But our loyal rule-follower kept going.

There were more fun games in the hallway.

Elephant bowling.

This game - trying to move the ducks using a straw - grossed Mommy out a bit...
Our boys were more interested in blowing bubbles in the water (and, incidentally, ingesting some of that water that all those kids had been blowing in).
Bubbles!

Find the hidden treasures.

Pound the golf tees into the pumpkins.

Henry had so much fun there. In fact, he added "Thank you for the trick or treat" to his regular prayer list at bedtime. Even the next summer, he was thanking God for this event - and asking us when we were going to do it again!
