E is for Erwins - Oct 12, 2015

E is for Erwin's Orchard! What better excuse does one need to go to our nearest apple orchard during the letter E week?!
Mommy was impressed with how helpful the boys were in picking apples. In fact, the whole process went much smoother than Mommy had expected. Of course, they enjoyed taste-testing a few of the apples as well.
Helen liked holding apples on her own.
We love Michigan apples!
We also made a stop on our wagon ride at the pumpkin patch to pick out our Halloween pumpkins.
The boys walked for a while to get just the right ones.
Success!
Pumpkin treasures!
Our friend Yuko Kikuchi came along with us. Although she has been in Michigan for a few years already, this was her first time to pick apples at an orchard. She is always fun to have around - she enjoys life no matter what!
We also brought Grandma along with us - she was quite helpful in giving Henry boost to get those apples up near the top of the tree.
It was a great year for apples. While it was fun to reach those apples way up high, we were grateful that there were plenty of good apples within reach of the boys on the ground as well.

Still content with her apple.

Naturally, after our work was done, we had to grab some apple cider to take home and then head to the hay piles. Because a pile of hay is just waiting for someone to conquer it!
Not much climbing for Helen this day. But she had fun crawling around in the hay and was thankful to be out of her stroller.

Thank you, God, for this beautiful day and Michigan's fresh produce!
