The conclusion of our Brighton Library's superhero-themed summer reading program was celebrated with a party out at "Millie's Garden."
We joined in on a variety of games, including throwing paper airplanes through the hoops.
Next, it was on to the obstacle course, which involved hurdling pool noodles, crawling through a tunnel,
... jumping in the hoops and crawling through another tunnel
... and boxing the punching bag at the end.
Our next game was bowling. Micah went first to show us how to do it.
Then Henry stepped up.
Next we moved on to a game where we had to throw foil balls across the line, while the other team was tossing them onto our side.
Our favorite librarian Miss Jane was running this game. We love her because she knows each of our kids personally and makes a point to connect with us each time we visit the library. She is also an amazing teacher, who encourages the creativity of the kids and a love of learning. She's the best!
Henry actually won this game (he's naturally good at throwing, especially food).
This was our first time to have a chance to go inside the little playhouse at Millie's Garden on the library grounds.
Henry immediately found the broom and gave the place a clean sweep.
Meanwhile, Helen took it all in from her stroller and enjoyed munching on her puffs.
She finally got a chance to get out and play as things were winding down.
Mommy put her on the ground to try out the sensory bin of rice and Lego treasures.
It was a lovely moment for Mommy, to see all three kids enjoying the same activity together.
We try to avoid using the pacifier when it's not nap time - but Mommy didn't want Helen to try putting anything in her mouth.
A quick stop over to the bubble station.
The party was about over at this point. We were basically shutting it down. Until this time, Mommy had successfully managed to avoid the area where they were handing out popsicles. However, as we were on our way out, the lady at that station practically begged us to take them off her hands... and the boys pleaded for Mom to agree.
It was a nice way to cool off at the end of a very fun morning (and we were very thankful for baby wipes to clean up the very sticky mess that resulted).
