Henry has been blessed to have some special visitors come to our house and meet him. Since we aren't really going out much yet (other than doctor visits), we love having guests over!
The first uncle to come and hold Henry was actually the one who lives the farthest away. Uncle Lyle and Ty came all the way from Hawaii to meet Henry! (There was also the thing about Jacob's brother Isaiah getting married that brought him back to MI). Uncle Lyle doesn't like to be known as a baby-cuddler, but Henry got pretty comfy in his arms!
Miss Jan and Sam brought us dinner on Friday night - and then Jan came back to spend most of Saturday with Mommy and Henry while Daddy and Micah traveled to the west side of the state to attend Isaiah and Samantha's wedding. It was so wonderful to have her help (since Mommy was still moving pretty slowly at this point)! Henry loved cuddling up with her. She took the beautiful photos at the top of the blog.
Friday evening, Uncle Andy, Aunt Heather, and Cousin Calla brought over dinner (fresh venison from Andy's trophy 10 point buck) and met Henry.
Calla was SO excited about meeting her new cousin. She had her mommy curl her hair in preparation. When her daddy handed Baby Henry down to her, Calla was shaking with the joyful anticipation. It was so cute to watch! She was very good about giving him his pacifier.
And she made sure he had his burp cloth.
We had a great evening together! The funniest part was when Heather helped with the diaper change... she hadn't had the experience of doing this with a newborn boy before... and Henry made sure it was a memorable one. As Heather later wrote on Facebook, "I thought I jumped out of the way fast enough, but I think Henry got me; kept getting a wiff of pee on the way home, lol..."
Sunday, the day after the wedding, Grandma and Poppa Roe got up early to make the drive over to see us.
Poppa was proud to hold his two Roe grandsons...
but it was Grandma who spent most of the afternoon cuddling with Henry. He slept much of the day away in her arms. That is one very well loved little grandson!
We were so glad that they made the drive over for the day. And we are thankful for all of our visitors! We look forward to introducing more friends and family to Henry soon!
And for the fun of it, here are some of the many faces of Henry...
