The Waiting Game

Today is November 20 and Baby Brother (aka "Sticker") is due on November 22. So we are all looking forward to the day when he makes his arrival!

While we wait, we've been talking a lot about him. Micah has been telling us all the things he's going to do when Baby Brother comes... like read books to him, sing songs to him, show him the paintings on Micah's wall, and share various toys with him. Of course, we talk about all the things that Baby Brother will do (cry, sleep, eat, mess his diapers) and won't be able to do yet (talk, jump, dance, walk).

As part of our preparation, Micah's room has undergone some changes. We painted Baby Brother's room blue and moved Micah's old crib in there. Since Oct 31, Micah has been sleeping in a "big boy bed." Daddy refinished and painted Great-Grandma Wilcynski's old bedroom set (with Micah's help). Now Micah's room looks more like a little boy's room, instead of a baby's room!

Knowing we'd be doing lots of family photos soon, Daddy decided to take a swipe (literally) at trimming Micah's hair (this all happened one day when Mommy said, "I'm going to jump in the shower now" and left the room). Micah allowed Daddy two passes and then he was done with the trimmer... so there's a bit more that needs to be done yet.
We've been talking about how it's going to be Baby Brother's birthday soon (and plus, with our extensive families, it's always someone's birthday!), so on Friday, Nov 16, Micah decided it was Tigger's birthday. Tigger spent the day with Micah at Grandma and Poppa's house. Micah insisted that they sing "Happy Birthday" multiple times to Tigger. And when he went to the store with them, he told everyone that Tigger it was birthday. Of course, Tigger was two years old. At home, we celebrated with pumpkin cake!

We have a lot of things prepared at home now for Baby Brother's arrival. But it seems (at least as of Mommy's doctor appointment on Monday), that we will have to wait a little longer. Perhaps that's good because Mommy and Daddy still have not agreed upon a name for him... and Micah still insists we should name him "Sticker."

Still, we are happy to know that God will pick the perfect time for Baby Brother to be born. So we trust that His timing is best (and pray it won't happen on Thanksgiving Day, when all the Roe's are coming for dinner... because Daddy told Mommy, "My mom held a graduation open house one week before delivering my brother. If you want to be as awesome as my mom, you'll host my family for Thanksgiving, on your due date" and Mommy loves a competitive challenge!).

All in all, we are very excited that he will be coming soon. We all can't wait to see him, hold him, play with him, and love him. Micah has even been practicing playing trains (his new passion) with Baby Brother!
