Micah's First Haircut (sort of)

Well, Micah got his first haircut June 20. He has never had much hair (comes by that honestly, since his mommy didn't have much hair as a baby and his daddy, well....). But it was starting to hang over his ears, and with Uncle Josh & Aunt Jen's wedding on June 30, it seemed it was time. Above is the "before" photo. As you can see, there wasn't a lot that really needed to be cut, which is a good thing...

I enlisted the help of Grandma Moldy (or "Grandma Bubbles," as Micah says) for this momentous occasion. She cut my brothers' hair for years, so she seemed like the perfect candidate. However, Micah wasn't so keen on the idea.

We thought the mirror would help distract him from the task at hand. We were wrong. The video here illustrates how Micah felt about Grandma coming at him with a  pair of scissors.

As I said, it was a good thing we only really needed to trim up around the ears. Getting through that was enough for Mommy & Grandma. We'll have to come up with a different plan to make it through haircut #2, whenever that may be!

Here are the "after" photos. Notice we did resort to the "pafa" (pacifier) in order to accomplish this little bit! It wasn't the sweet motherhood memory I was expecting, but at least Micah didn't have hair over his ears for the wedding!
